Blog marketing is a brilliant and cheap way to get traffic to your website. Everyone knows website hits are the key to having a successful website and if you don't take appropriate measures to generate traffic you are not going to do well in cyber space. A good online marketing strategy can begin with blog marketing.
What blog marketing is basically is adding your website link in the content of a blog. It can be any blog really. But if you want maximum exposure you may want to start your own blog and make it a separate entity from your business website. For instance if you sell widgets then start a blog about widgets that is informative and invites others to discuss widgets. But in your informative content add a link to your business site as a reference. People are curious creatures and they will most likely click on your link especially if they like your writing. Some good advice is that if you can't write then don't start your own blog! Leave it to someone else. And, there are lots of someone elses you can tap into for your blog marketing campaign. Virtually any blog is a target to add your link into. To get started you can offer to write an article for someone's blog as an expert in whatever field the blog is about. You write for free but ask to add your link in the content of the article. This is a great way to get exposure and it's usually free although you may have to reference their blog on your website somewhere most likely the links page. But that's no big deal and think of how much money you can save. You can also pay for blog marketing with a pay per click strategy. Obviously, it's not as economical but it can still be a great way to generate sales. With this type of blog marketing when someone clicks on your link in a host blog's content, you pay the blogger an agreed upon commission or flat rate. That number is totally up to you and the host blog. Some blogs will charge only on a sale made and some will charge for every click. Blog marketing is awesome.
